Color Images<\/p>\n<p>The next version of the toolkit will remove the need to manually set color threshold levels for virtually all images. A new property called\u00a0ColorProcessingLevel will control the amount of time spent searching a color image and beta testers have reported massive improvements in read rates using default settings.<\/p>\n<p>2. GS1 Databar support.<\/p>\n<p>GS1 Databar barcodes can carry more information than the current UPC\/EAN barcode system used in retail, including expiry dates and weights. The Softek barcode Reader SDK will support the full range of GS1 Databar &#8211; RSS14, RSS14 Stacked, RSS Truncated, RSS Limited, RSS Expanded and RSS Expanded Stacked. There will also be support for supplementary data stored in micro PDF-417 barcodes.<\/p>\n<p>3. Code-128 barcodes<\/p>\n<p>More improvements to the code-128 module mean higher read rates and accuracy for this important symbology.<\/p>\n<p>The release is due out in January and will be available as a free upgrade to developers who purchased a license in the last 12 months (from the release date) or who have a support and upgrade agreement in place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re pleased to announce that the following features will be supported in the next release of the toolkit: 1.
