How to Restore Default Settings in BardecodeFiler

admin November 27, 2012 BardecodeFiler, Settings No Comments

We have recently added the capability to restore default settings with a single click in the BardecodeFiler application and the SDK Demo. The reset button can be found under the ‘import/export’ tab in ‘options’ and restores default settings. It is worth noting that it does not reset the file paths for input and output directories.  This was not possible within older versions of BardecodeFiler. However if you are still using an older version then it is easily done with the method outlined below.

1 – Open regedit (Registry Editor). Simply click on the start button and type ‘regedit’ into the ‘search programs and files’ box.

2 – Expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER tab

3 – Expand ‘Software’

4 – Expand ‘Softek Software’

5 – You should then see ‘BardecodeFiler’ file appear below softek software. You can click on this to explore the settings and change any if you wish to do so. However to simply restore default settings you should right click on the ‘BardecodeFiler’ file and choose ‘delete’. This will mean you return to the installation settings.

This is very useful if you are struggling to work out why you cannot get the correct settings, it is often a case that a box somewhere has been accidently ticked and forgotten about. For more information just contact support.
